For a winter holiday with kids in Brzeće you need neither a car nor the gondola. Everything children need in the snow is right across the road from our building, at Hotel Junior, side by side: a small learning slope with a magic carpet, a sledging run, a snow tubing run and the Hotel Junior ski slope. Brzeće lies at the foot of Kopaonik, at 1,100 m, and families with children on Booking.com especially like this location.
First turns on skis: the magic carpet and ski school
The small learning slope has a magic carpet. A child steps onto it with skis on, the belt carries them about 30 m to the top of the slope, and from there they slide gently back down. This is how children learn to ski without a lift. The magic carpet is included in the Hotel Junior ski pass.
There is a ski school at Hotel Junior, and you can also book a private instructor. Ask us about times and prices before you arrive – we will let you know.
You do not have to bring equipment from home: the Hotel Junior ski rental has skis, ski boots, goggles and helmets, and there are also ski rental shops at the lower gondola station.
Sledging and snow tubing
Between the learning slope and the ski slope is the sledging run, and next to it the snow tubing run. Sledging is free, and you can also slide down on a plastic snow slider. Snow tubing means sliding down a separate run on a big inflatable tube. It is paid for, and the tube is included.
You do not need to bring a sledge or a snow slider: they are waiting for you in the apartment, free of charge for our guests.
The Hotel Junior ski slope
Once a child has mastered the magic carpet, the next step is the Hotel Junior ski slope, 400 m long and suitable for children and beginners. A button lift takes skiers to the top: you put a small round disc between your legs, and the lift pulls you up the slope. The slope is open from 09:00 to 16:00, and during the season there is also night skiing, which is paid separately.
The slope is private and is not covered by the Ski Resorts of Serbia ski pass. It has its own ski pass, for a full or half day, sold at the hotel itself, and the magic carpet is included in it.
Off the snow: a playground, a playroom and cartoons
In front of Hotel Junior there is a children’s playground, and inside the hotel a playroom for younger children, billiards and table tennis. During the season the hotel runs an evening children’s cinema in its conference hall, showing one cartoon each time. The hotel also has its own restaurant and café, and there are several more in Brzeće.
When the kids grow up: the gondola and easy slopes on Kopaonik
The gondola in Brzeće is about 500 m from the apartment and takes 12.5 minutes up to Mali Karaman. At the top is the easy Mali Karaman slope, and from there a shortcut leads to the Karaman greben slope, which Ski Resorts of Serbia describe as extremely easy and suitable for beginners. The Ski Resorts of Serbia ski pass is valid for the gondola and the lifts on Kopaonik, and it is also sold at the lower station in Brzeće. In the apartment
There is a baby cot in the bedroom, and the apartment sleeps up to 4 people. After a day on the slopes there is a fireplace in the living room, along with cards and board games: Uno, the dice game Jamb, Ludo, chess, draughts and Chinese checkers. Your car can stay in the free public car park in front of the building, and you walk to the slopes.
When to come
The season on Kopaonik usually lasts from early December to the end of April. For the winter school break and the New Year holidays, please send your enquiry well in advance.
